Mississippi superintendent accused of overpaying herself by $50K

A school superintendent in the Mississippi Delta overpaid herself by $52,000 at her last job, alleges State Auditor Stacey Pickering, who is demanding she repay the state nearly $70,000 within 30 days.

West Bolivar Superintendent Beverly Culley is accused of overpaying herself when at the helm of the Benoit School District in 2014, according to the Associated Press. Pickering demands Culley repay nearly $70,000, which includes the unauthorized salary plus interest, along with costs related to the investigation.
