Mississippi man confesses to burning down his house because he was ‘fed up’ with his spouse, sheriff says

A Neshoba County man arrested this week after allegedly burning down his own house said he did it because he was “fed up with his spouse,” according to the county sheriff.

The fire started Wednesday night at a trailer park in Sandtown and reignited Thursday, as reported by WTOK-TV in Meridian. The suspect, Alvaro Robles, told police he poured gasoline in his family’s home before setting it ablaze, according to Neshoba Co. Sheriff Tommy Waddell.

“The suspect also told another member of the family that was living there anything he wanted to save he better take it from the home because he was going to set fire to it,” Waddell told WTOK.

Though several people lived in the home, young children among them, no one was inside the home when the fire started.
