If you’re a frequent visitor to Sardis Lake, you might want to pay closer attention to what’s in the water following recent reports of a “manatee-like creature” lurking in the water and approaching boats.

“This thing lunged at us at Sardis Lake on Monday,” former trial lawyer Richard “Dickie” Scruggs posted on Facebook. “Does anyone know what it is?”

Scruggs spends a considerable amount of time on the lake, where he keeps a sailboat.

Photos of the creature were also shared on HottyToddy.com’s Facebook page, following by several comments from readers suggesting what it might be.
