Longtime Mississippi columnist Sid Salter announced on Twitter Wednesday he’s in his final week of chemotherapy treatment following his May 2017 lymphoma diagnosis, and says his cancer is in remission.
Salter, who took an indefinite leave from writing his weekly syndicated column to pursue cancer treatment, is Chief Communications Officer at Mississippi State University, his alma mater.
“Light at the end of the tunnel and it isn’t an oncoming train,” Salter tweeted Wednesday.
My cancer is in remission. Last week of chemo treatments began this morning. Light at the end of the tunnel and it isn’t an oncoming train. pic.twitter.com/te1YzNdL8m
