Victim kills one would-be robber, teen accomplice faces murder charge

MERIDIAN – What police believe was a home invasion gone awry has left one intruder dead and his accomplice behind bars charged with murder.
Dezjuan Moffite was charged with capital murder Friday after police believe he and 22-year-old Randerious Martin attempted to rob the residents of a Meridian apartment Thursday night.
Martin could face the death penalty.
Investigators believe one of the robbery victims managed to overpower at least one of the pair and an physical altercation ensued.
One of the residents managed to shoot Martin, killing him.
But police have charged Moffite with Martin’s death because they said he is responsible for the man’s death through the criminal act they were perpetrating together.
