Becky Tate, manager of the Wendy’s fast food restaurant in Brookhaven, has been named the No. 2 general manager for the restaurant across its entire global system.
Tate is one of 200 general managers who were recognized by the company recently for their leadership, performance, dedication to excellence and continuing service.
“There is no one more deserving of this honor than Becky,” said Brian McDaniel, senior vice president for the Carlisle Corporation — a Memphis-based franchisee that owns more than 150 Wendy’s across the Southeast.
“She represents the very best of both Wendy’s and Carlisle. Becky is beloved by her team and community. There is not a person in Brookhaven who doesn’t know Becky and hasn’t been touched by her spirit and generosity,” McDaniel said.
Ninety-five percent of the 6,700 Wendy’s restaurants worldwide are franchise-owned and operated. Every general manager in the franchise network was evaluated, and 537 met initial criteria. These were narrowed down to 200 by a committee of franchise and company leaders. Of these 200, 175 were chosen from the United States, 15 from Canada and 10 from other countries. Wendy’s was founded by restauranteur Dave Thomas. Read more about him here.
The average tenure for the top 200 general managers was 15 years, with more than 50 claiming a tenure of 20 years.
“I am incredibly honored and humbled to receive this distinction,” said Tate.
“While this award is given to an individual, it truly is a team award. I have been blessed to work with talented and passionate people that help create a great experience for each and every one of our guests,” she said.
