Wesson police are hopeful a distinctive tattoo on a suspect’s hand will lead them to the identity of a man caught on camera robbing East End Grocery at gunpoint.
Chief Chad O’Quinn said officers were called to the convenience store and gas station at 1187 East Railroad Ave. shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday for a report of an armed robbery.
Witnesses told police a man wearing a dark hoodie came into the store brandishing a pistol. O’Quinn said the man demanded the cashier give him cash from the register. Two employees but no customers were in the store at the time, O’Quinn said.
The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and got into the passenger side of a blue four-door sedan. Witnesses told police it looked like a Toyota Camry, but they were not positive, he said. They were unable to see the car tag.
In security footage the suspect’s face is covered except for his eyes, but a tattoo on his right hand is visible.
