An 11-year-old Mississippi girl died Sunday morning after she was shot in the face.

The girl, who has not been identified, apparently found the gun in the house, WLBT-TV reports.

The shooting happened just before 9 a.m. Sunday. One of the girl’s parents, who was in a different room of the residence, found the wounded girl moments after hearing the gunshot.

No charges have been filed and the incident is still under investigation, the TV station reported.
