Caribbean storm system has 1-in-5 chance of developing in next week

The National Hurricane Center says an area of cloudiness and thunderstorms in the eastern Caribbean Sea has a 1-in-5 chance of developing into a tropical system over the next five days.
The area of disturbance is associated with a tropical wave that is expected to produce locally heavy rainfall and possibly some flooding across portions of the Lesser Antilles, Puerto Rico and Hispaniola.
Weather forecasters say development the next couple of days is unlikely, but as the system moves over the Straits of Florida or the Bahamas toward the end of the week an increased chance for development exists.
