A Mississippi man has been sentenced to life in prison for his role in the May 2017 shooting death of a 6-year-old boy who authorities said was inside a car stolen from a supermarket parking lot.
Madison County Sheriff Randy Tucker says Byron McBride pleaded guilty to the capital murder of Kingston Frazier Thursday and he was sentenced.
News outlets report District Attorney John K. Bramlett Jr. says McBride admitted to shooting Frazier, who was asleep in the back of his mother’s car.
Hours later the car was found abandoned behind a building in Madison County. The child was still in the back seat — where he’d been shot to death.
D’Allen Washington was sentenced to 15 years in the case. A third suspect, Dwan Wakefield, faces trial Oct. 21.
