Storms, tornadoes race across Mississippi Monday

A strong ling of storms, some producing tornadoes churned through western Mississippi Monday afternoon, headed east.
At 3:22 a confirmed tornado was spotted near Bogue Chitto, in Lincoln County near Brookhaven, with damage reported throughout the area.
Earlier a possible tornado was reported near Port Gibson south of Vicksburg.

Multiple trees were reported down along Hwy. 98 near Hwy. 569, as well as Bogue Chitto Road and Concord Lane. Hwy. 98 was closed to traffic due to storm debris. MDOT crews were on the scene working to clear roadways after the storm passed.
Shortly after a tornado-warned stormed was reported east of Brookhaven. That was followed by another storm capable of producing a tornado in the same area as the confirmed tornado near Bogue Chitto.
Very minor injuries were reported in Franklin County due to severe weather. Tornado damage to a house and barn was also reported there.
A tornado-warned storm passed through Lawrence County at about 4:30. A funnel cloud was reported near Monticello.
