Officials are investigating after a body was found burned beyond recognition near a Mississippi train station.

WLBT in Jackson reports that the body was found in a shed near Union Station in downtown Jackson.

The remains found near the intersection of North Gallatin and West Capitol streets shortly before midnight Sunday were described by officials with the Jackson Fire Department as being burned beyond recognition.

No other detail were released about the investigation.

The discovery is being investigated by the Jackson Fire Department and the Capitol Police.
