A Mississippi man has been arrested for false pretense on a business.

According to the Tupelo Police Department, Cody J. King, 32, of Booneville, allegedly entered a business and attempted to purchase items from the store with an altered check stolen from another business on Tuesday.

A Tupelo Municipal Court Judge ordered King to be held on $5,000 bond. The case will be presented to a Lee County Grand Jury.
