A Mississippi interstate wreck that occurred shortly before midnight has claimed the life of a 15-year-old and injured four other people.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol reports that the fatal crash happened at 11:41 Friday night on Interstate 20 West near the 18-mile marker in Hinds County.

Reports are that a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Lauren Young, 33, ran off the roadway and collided with the median.

Gracie Wren, 15, who was one of the passengers in the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.

Young and three minor passengers, all from Vicksburg, were transported to UMMC in Jackson with unknown injuries.
