The suspect arrested in Monday’s stabbing incident on the Mississippi State University campus has been identified.

Officials with the university report that Gavin Suddeth, 38, of Starkville, has been charged with aggravated domestic and child endangerment.

Suddeth reportedly stabbed a university employee on Monday, Dec. 11, in a vehicle near Herbert Hall, a dormitory on the Starkville campus.

The stabbing was reportedly in connection with a domestic situation between Suddeth and the victim. Officials believe the suspect and the victim knew each other.

Suddeth was charged with child endangerment because four of the victim’s children were in the car when the stabbing occurred, according to officials.

The victim’s injuries were described as being non-life-threatening.
