Lives of animals lost as Mississippi firefighters battle barn fire

A barn fire Monday afternoon claimed the lives of several animals as Mississippi firefighters and others tried to rescue the animals.
Natchez and volunteer firefighters responded to reports of the fire Monday afternoon barn fire at 32 Rose Hill Drive in Adams County.
The call came to Natchez Fire Department at approximately 12:30 p.m. while the homeowner was trying to get the animals out and county volunteer firefighters were en route to the scene.
The blaze was under control by 1 p.m. Horses were rescued, but eight goats were lost in the fire, Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten said.
No other injury or loss was reported. It is unclear at this time how the fire started.
