Mississippi Skies: Cold weather continues as we watch another winter storm heading our way later this week

We won’t warm up much Tuesday, but precipitation is finally moving out of the state. Although the snow and ice are moving out, driving will still be dangerous in many places, especially roads without much traffic.
We can still have icy spots, especially once the sun goes down again. The wind may be miserable for some Tuesday, but gusty breezes will help dry out the state’s highways to make them a little safer.
We’ll get somewhat warmer midweek, but we’re watching another system heading our way that will drop temperatures again. It looks like our coldest nights with the second system will be Friday and Saturday.
North Mississippi
Cloudy through the morning, then becoming clear with a high of 16 and wind chill of -9. Clear overnight with a low of -1 and a wind chill of -12.
Central Mississippi
Cloudy early, then gradually clearing with a high of 25 and wind chill of -3. Tuesday night, clear with a low of 7 and wind chill near 0.
South Mississippi
Cloudy in the morning with some clearing later in the day. High of 30 and wind chill of 0. Clear overnight with a low of 12 and windchill near 6 degrees.
Gulf Coast
