As of 7:30 a.m. 75 counties are now reporting icy road conditions, as far south as Hancock County.
As of 7:30 a.m. on January 16, 75 counties have reported ice on roads and bridges: Adams, Alcorn, Amite, Attala, Benton, Bolivar, Calhoun, Carroll, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Claiborne, Clarke, Clay, Coahoma, Copiah, Covington, DeSoto, Franklin, Grenada, Hancock, Harrison, Hinds, Holmes, Humphreys, Issaquena, Itawamba, Jasper, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Jones, Kemper, Lafayette, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Leake, Lee, Leflore, Lincoln, Lowndes, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Montgomery, Neshoba, Newton, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, Panola, Pike, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Quitman, Rankin, Scott, Sharkey, Simpson, Smith, Stone, Sunflower, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Tunica, Union, Walthall, Warren, Washington, Wayne, Webster, Wilkinson, Winston, Yalobusha, and Yazoo.

Mississippi Department of Transportation officials report that 69 of Mississippi’s 82 counties are now reporting ice on roads and bridges.
Frigid temperatures and icy conditions are being reported from DeSoto and Alcorn county officials in the north part of the state to Wilkinson and Jefferson Davis counties in the south.
County not reporting icy conditions are primarily in the state’s southeast corner and along the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
“Roads are treacherous, so please only travel if it is an emergency. First responders may have difficulty reaching you in these conditions!” MDOT officials reported on social media.
As of 6 a.m. on Jan. 16, ice has been reported on roads and bridges in the following counties: Adams, Alcorn, Amite, Attala, Benton, Bolivar, Calhoun, Carroll, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Claiborne, Clay, Coahoma, Copiah, Covington, DeSoto, Franklin, Grenada, Harrison, Hinds, Holmes, Humphreys, Issaquena, Itawamba, Jefferson, Jefferson Davis, Jones, Kemper, Lafayette, Lawrence, Leake, Lee, Leflore, Lincoln, Lowndes, Madison, Marion, Marshall, Monroe, Montgomery, Neshoba, Newton, Noxubee, Oktibbeha, Panola, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Quitman, Rankin, Scott, Sharkey, Simpson, Smith, Sunflower, Tallahatchie, Tate, Tippah, Tishomingo, Tunica, Union, Walthall, Warren, Washington, Webster, Wilkinson, Winston, Yalobusha, and Yazoo.
