Mississippi man arrested after he reportedly left scene where he hit woman, child with his vehicle

A Mississippi man was arrested after he reportedly struck a woman and child with his vehicle and then left the scene.
The Tupelo Police Department arrested Willie B. Ware, 22, Saltillo, and charged him with Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Ware is being held on a $25,000 bond.

Tupelo Police officers have arrested a Saltillo man after he struck a woman and child with his vehicle on North Gloster Street and left the scene. Both victims were seriously injured.
Willie B. Ware, 22, Saltillo, was charged with Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
On 03-02-24, Tupelo Police officers were dispatched to a report of a vehicle striking two pedestrians on North Gloster Street. An adult female and a child, walking across North Gloster Street, were struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle left the scene prior to officers’ arrival and an arrest was made a short time later. After further investigation, TPD detectives charged Ware with the crime.
On 03-04-24, Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen ordered Ware to be held on a $25,000 bond. These charges will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
