The man accused of shooting at Mississippi police officers from his motorcycle is back in Mississippi after being arrested more than 300 miles away from the incident.
Colby Towles has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault of an officer as well as conspiracy to commit a crime.
Towles is accused of shooting at officers in Olive Branch from his motorcycle. Officials say Towles approached officers on his bike as the officers were conducting a traffic stop and then started yelling at the officers. Then Towles reportedly drove off, made a U-turn on the highway and fired several shots at the officers.
Towles was later taken into custody more than 300 miles away near the Bass Pro Angler’s Lodge Hotel in Springfield, Missouri.
Sarah Skriver, Towles’ alleged girlfriend, has also been arrested and charged as an accessory after the fact. Skriver reportedly helped Towles and hindered law enforcement.
A child was also present when Towles was arrested and is now safe.
Towles’ first court appointment is April 4.
