Mississippi Skies: Stormy weather possible Wednesday, Thursday

Wednesday will bring a chance for some storms for the northern half of the state with a slight chance for a strong to severe storm in northern Mississippi.
According to the Storm Prediction Center, a Level 1 risk covers about a third of the state from the Tennessee state line to just the U. S. Hwy. 82 corridor. Although storms are possible farther south, we’re not expecting severe weather to impact other areas.
Wednesday also begins a stretch of cloudy days with at least a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm through Sunday for northern, central, and southern Mississippi.
We could have another slight chance of severe weather on Thursday.
North Mississippi
Cloudy with a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm. High of 81. Wednesday night, cloudy with a low of 63.
Central Mississippi
Cloudy with a few showers. A storm or two is possible in the afternoon. High of 78. Overnight, a shower or two is possible with cloudy skies. Low of 65.
South Mississippi
Cloudy with a high of 81. Cloudy overnight with a slight chance of a shower. Low of 66.
Gulf Coast
Mostly cloudy with a high of 79. Mostly cloudy overnight with fog possible towards Thursday morning. Low of 67.
