Tennessee man arrested after string of Mississippi armed robberies

Mississippi officers were lauded for their quick apprehension of a Tennessee man who is suspected in a string of armed robberies.
Deputies from the Tishomingo County Sheriff’s Office and the Iuka Police Department coordinated their efforts on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, when they responded to a string of armed robberies.
Deputies rushed to Dollar General on HWY 25 near Goat Island following reports of an armed robbery, while simultaneously, Iuka Police Officers were dispatched to an armed robbery at Exxon in Iuka, MS.
Officers from both agencies tracked down the suspect’s vehicle, matching the description provided by witnesses, parked at Brooks Grocery in Iuka.
They swiftly apprehended Jameson Prentis Jones of Murfreesboro, TN, without any resistance.
Jones now faces three counts of armed robbery in connection with the incidents.
The collaborative efforts of law enforcement led to the swift capture of the suspect, ensuring the safety and security of the community, officials said.
