Police say a Mississippi man has been arrested on felony child abuse charges, and the mother — who is a juvenile — may also be charged in the case.

Natchez Police arrested Taj Minor, 26, for allegedly abusing a 3-year-old child. Police say Minor, who works as an E-911 dispatcher for Adams County, is not the child’s biological father.

Natchez Police Chief Cal Green said Child Protective Services notified her department of an incident involving the child. She said when her officers began their investigation, injuries to the child were visibly evident.

She said the child did not require hospitalization and is in the custody of Child Protective Services.
