Two people have been arrested on murder charges after a shooting in a Mississippi night club parking lot killed one person and injured several others Sunday night.
Eric Dixon, 42, and Joseph Crumb, 34, have been charged with murder and aggravated assault.
Officials with the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office report that the shooting occurred shortly before midnight Sunday at the “Sugar Shack” on Lee Davis Circle off Highway 18 in Utica.
Sheriff Tyree Jones reported on social media that five people were shot in the incident.
Jason Harris, 41, died of his injuries. Harris is reportedly the brother of Eric Dixon.
Michael Brown, 53, and Anthony Brown, 48, were transported to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson where they are undergoing treatment.
Two other people were reportedly caught in the crossfire and were treated and released from a local hospital.
WAPT News in Jackson reports that the shooting stemmed from an argument between Michael Brown and three other people in the parking lot. Several people displayed guns in the parking lot, where shots were fired, Jones said.
Two guns, along with 23 shell casings, were reportedly recovered at the scene,
