A Mississippi man has been arrested on assault and sexual battery charges after a woman was transported to the hospital with facial injuries.

Tyler Anderson, 26, was arrested Tuesday and charged with one count of domestic violence – aggravated assault and one count of sexual battery.

Hattiesburg police officers responded to a domestic violence call at an apartment complex on Park Place at approximately 11:35 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found a female suffering from apparent facial injuries. She was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Anderson has been booked into the Forrest County Adult Detention Center.

HPD said the investigation is ongoing.
