A Mississippi firefighter was life-flighted to the hospital after being trapped in a fire truck that was involved in a rollover accident while firefighters were responding to an emergency this weekend.

Officials with the Wiggins Fire Department asked in a social media post for prayers for the firefighter and the firefighter’s family.

“Around midnight, our department was responding to a major vehicle accident when our engine got into an accident itself,” the fire department chief wrote. “The engine rolled and trapped one of our firefighters under it. The firefighter was life-flighted to a hospital but, by the grace of God, is expected to make a full recovery.”

“We are asking for prayers for the firefighter and the firefighter’s family, as well as all of us here at Wiggins Fire Department.” the post continued. “We appreciate the support and look forward to continuing to serve our community and getting our firefighter back with us soon!”
