One person has been arrested after a domestic altercation led to gunfire.
A shooting at a Walnut Street house in Natchez shortly after 6 p.m. Friday injured two men and a dog, Natchez police report.
On Sunday, Douglas Wesley Douglas Jr. was arrested on an aggravated assault charge in connection with the shooting.
After an initial investigation, police believe that the incident started with an altercation between Hunter Crfat, who was staying at the residence, and an unidentified female.
During the altercation, the female reportedly called another male, identified as William Rouse, to pick her up and take her to a friend’s house.
Police say Rouse then returned to the Walnut Street house with another man, identified as Douglas.
Soon after, a fight ensued, police said. Police say at some point in the altercation, Douglas retrieved a gun and shots were fired.
After the shooting, both Craft and Rouse were transported to the hospital with gunshot wounds. A dog in the house at the time was also injured, although police said it is unclear if the dog was struck by gunfire or injured by broken glass.
The status of those injured is unknown at this time.
