Another round of strong storms — some possibly severe — expected for Mississippi today

Another day of severe weather may be in store for portions of Mississippi.

The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a severe weather advisory for the center part of the state along I-20.

An area including Natchez to the south, Greenville to the north, and Meridian to the west has been designated as having a level-2 slight risk of strong storms accompanied by severe weather, damaging winds and hail up to a quarter in size.

The storms are expected to move across the state between 3 and 10 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4.

Other areas to the north and south will see a level-1 marginal risk of severe weather.

Isolated rain chances every afternoon are to be expected somewhere in central Mississippi throughout the week and that is just the pattern we have to get used to.
