Deputies dismantle toilet to get evidence after suspect flushes drugs, authorities say

Mississippi sheriff’s deputies had to tear apart a toilet Thursday to obtain drug evidence after they said a suspect began flushing the drugs as deputies attempted to execute a search warrant.

Ultimately, several people were arrested, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Deputies were executing a search warrant at 37 Fieldview Drive.

As deputies searched the house, they said Roy Ray Jr., 49, ran into the bathroom and begin flushing materials.

After taking apart the toilet deputies said they found suboxone, bags of marijuana and some other pills that had begun to dissolve.

In addition to Ray’s arrest, others arrested at the scene include:

  • Tabitha McClain, 18, on charged of hindering prosecution for allegedly telling Ray that deputies were near his house.
  • Edrina Fay Fairchild, 39, on charges of reckless driving at the scene.
  • Joshua McClain, on charges of failure to appear.
  • James Johnston, on warrants for previous trespassing charges.
  • Chaisty Hammers, on charges for a probation violation in Louisiana.
