One dead in fiery crash involving three cars, two 18-wheelers on Mississippi interstate

One person was killed in a fiery weekend crash involving multiple cars on the Mississippi interstate.

Mississippi Highway Patrol officials report the crash on Interstate 20 near Edwards. in Hinds County

The accident reportedly involved three cars and two 18-wheelers.

Officials say a 2006 Toyota 4-Runner collided with a 1998 Freightliner, which then collided with a 2023 Freightliner.

The Toyota 4-Runner then collided with a 2023 Ford Maverick. During the incident,  a 2019 GMC Acadia left the roadway and collided with a ditch in the median.

Anthony Brumley, 62, the passenger of the Ford Maverick, received fatal injuries from the crash. Brumley was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other people were transported to a local hospital with injuries.

The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
