Natchez Police Commander Jerry Ford said that investigators are trying to make sense of the information provided by the Camry’s driver and passengers.

The four people, ranging in age from 18 to 27, reported to police that the black vehicle started firing at the Toyota Camry after it started making a turn on to West Stiers Lane. Ford said that the people in the Camry reported returning fire as they were fleeing the scene to call 911.

One of the passengers in the Camry, age 28, was struck in the heel of his foot. The driver, 21, was hit in the left arm and one of his fingers. Another male passenger in the Camry, age 20, was uninjured. The lone female in the car, age 18, who the vehicle belonged to, sustained injuries from glass shattered during the gunfire.

Police said they do not have a good description or tag number of the vehicle. The people in the Camry described the black car as a small sedan.

Anyone with any information about the shooting is asked to call the Natchez Police Department or Crime Stoppers at (888) 442-5001.
