The suspect wanted in the killing of an Alabama man at a Mississippi bar is now in custody.

WDAM in Hattiesburg reports that Jaylen Mayfield, 24, turned himself in at the Waynesboro Police Department on Monday afternoon.

Mayfield is wanted in the shooting death of Brandon Cartwright, 24, of Fruitdale, Ala. The shooting reportedly occurred at approximately 2 a.m. at a Waynesboro bar.

Police used surveillance video and accounts from witnesses to identify Mayfield as a suspect.

Police say Mayfield was last seen wearing a black hat, white shirt, and black pants on Saturday morning.

Cartwright’s family has created a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the funeral expenses for their loved one.
