Mississippi man arrested after reportedly threatening physical harm to deputy

A Mississippi man was recently arrested after he reportedly approached a deputy and threatened to harm the officer physically.

Ryan Sellers, 29, of Water Valley, was arrested and charged with retaliation against a public servant or witness and transported to Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $2,500 bond.

On July 6, a deputy with Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office was parked on a public easement on County Road 375, monitoring traffic on Highway 7. While on the scene, the deputy was approached by  Sellers, who then became irate and started to argue with the deputy regarding his presence on the road.

Later into the encounter, Sellers began to make threatening gestures and made threats to harm the deputy physically.

Sellers was arrested and charged with retaliation against a public servant or witness and transported to Lafayette County Detention Center where he was booked on a $2,500 bond.
