Mississippi officials alert residents of a weekend road closure in Rankin County that could affect their travel plans.

Mississippi 469 northeast of Florence will be closed in both directions between Williams Road and Lexington Drive in Rankin County.

The portion of the road that will be closed for drainage pipe repairs is adjacent to the Florence high school and elementary school.

The closure will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 19, and last until 6 a.m. Monday, July 22.

Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes during this period.
