Numerous Mississippi fire agencies are working to put out a blaze that has reportedly consumed three buildings in downtown Vardaman.

WTVA in Tupelo reports that the firefighters responded to an active fire at approximately 5:30 a.m.

Residents in the Vardaman area posted photos and videos of the blaze on social media.

Vardaman Police Chief Dustin Pounds reported that at least three buildings, including a furniture factory and a Mexican grocery store, caught on fire.

Pounds confirmed all three buildings are a total loss.

Approximately ten area fire departments responded to the scene.

There are no reported injuries at this time.
