A Mississippi man reportedly died after experiencing a medical emergency while boating on the Barnett Reservoir.

Officials with the Reservoir Police received a call about an unoccupied boat on the reservoir at approximately 10 p.m. Saturday.

The police began a search in the area where the empty boat was found. About 300 yards west of the boat, the body of Steve Cermak, 62, of Brandon, was found floating in the water.

Officials believe that Cermak experienced a medical emergency while boating and then fell into the water.
