Mississippi man arrested after a video reportedly shows him stealing a purse from a parked vehicle.

On August 5, 2024, at approximately 2:30 p.m., the Oxford Police Department responded to a parking lot in the 2500 block of West Jackson Ave. for a purse reported stolen from a car.

The officer arrived and watched a security video from in front of the business and recognized the suspect as Jaden DaMarkeon Miller (20 of Oxford, MS). The suspect was able to reach through a window that was slightly rolled down and pulled the purse out.

Miller was located shortly later and arrested. The purse and it’s contents were recovered and returned to the victim.

Miller was taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center and charged with Auto Burglary. A bond was set by the Municipal Court Judge.
