Mississippi man arrested in connection with multiple break-ins at storage units

A Mississippi man was arrested in connection with reported multiple break-ins at storage units.

On August 9th, 2024, the Oxford Police Department responded to a reported break-in at a business on the 600 block of McLarty Road. Upon arrival, officers found several storage units with broken locks and personal items stolen from multiple victims.

Security camera footage revealed two masked individuals using a lock cutter to break into the units. Through the investigation, Oxford Police identified one of the suspects as Teddy Dean Austin Jr., 43, of Courtland, Mississippi. Later that same day, Austin was arrested and charged with eight counts of Commercial Burglary. His bond will be determined by a Municipal Court judge.
