The body of a 19-year-old male has been recovered from a south Mississippi river.

The Natchez Democrat reports that the body of the male was recovered from the Homochitto River In Franklin County.

Officials with Adams County Search and Rescue assisted in the search and recovery effort Sunday when the body of the deceased 19-year-old Hispanic male was retrieved shortly before 7 p.m.

Information about how the body ended up in the river and how it was discovered has not been released.

The identity of the body has not been released.

Adams County Emergency Management Director Robert Bradford told The Democrat that the investigation is ongoing.
