A Mississippi teacher has been arrested and charged with making terroristic threats toward school personnel, according to the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department.

Christian Johnson, 36, was taken into custody following an investigation that began earlier this week. Sheriff Billy Calhoun stated that the department was alerted to concerning social media posts on Monday, prompting them to take immediate action.

Calhoun said that the FBO was contacted due to the nature of the posts. The FBI joined the investigation, and a search warrant was executed Thursday night in Meridian.

Johnson was arrested later that evening and formally charged with making terroristic threats. He is currently being held without bond, with a bond hearing scheduled for Tuesday.

Sheriff Calhoun emphasized the seriousness of the situation, noting that threats made on social media are treated with the utmost gravity. “This was a group effort,” he said, thanking the community for their vigilance in reporting the threats.
