The Mississippi Highway Patrol reports that there was a significant increase in fatalities during this year’s holiday travel period, with 15 people losing their lives in car crashes across multiple counties—a staggering 275 percent increase from last year’s four fatalities.

The most devastating incident occurred in Warren County, where a bus crash over the weekend claimed the lives of seven people. More than 30 others were injured when the bus overturned, marking one of the deadliest accidents in the state during the holiday period.
