Body of Mississippi teen recovered after reported accidental drowning in Pascagoula River

The body of a Mississippi teen was recovered from the Pascagoula River Tuesday after an accidental drowning was reported Monday.

The body of 17-year-old Jacob Mullen, who went missing underwater on Monday evening, was located by first responders in George County.

Authorities received a call Monday evening reporting an accidental drowning in the Pascagoula River, south of Highway 26. Search efforts by law enforcement began that night and continued throughout Tuesday.

Officials with the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks confirmed that Mullen’s body was recovered about a quarter mile from where he was last seen in the river.
