Mississippi woman killed in mid-day wreck Wednesday

A Mississippi woman died in a mid-day wreck in Covington County Wednesday.

Officials from the Mississippi Highway Patrol report that the crash occurred shortly after noon Wednesday on Highway 84.

At approximately 12:15 p.m., officers responded to the scene where a 2015 Kia Optima, driven by Shakayiah Keys of Taylorsville, 20, had left the roadway and collided with a tree.

Keys was killed in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
