UPDATE: Phi Delta Theta identified as fraternity placed on interim suspension by University of Mississippi over alleged hazing videos

The Oxford Eagle newspaper reports that the University of Mississippi has placed the Mississippi Alpha Chapter of Phi Delta Theta on interim suspension after videos of a hazing incident began circulating on social media.

The University of Mississippi has placed one of its fraternities on interim suspension after videos of a hazing incident began circulating on social media.

WMC Action News 5 in Memphis reports the interim suspension of the fraternity that has yet to be named. 

When questioned about the videos by WMC reporters, the University released the following statement:

“The University is aware of the videos and takes allegations of hazing seriously. The university has placed the involved fraternity on interim suspension, which includes pausing new member activities. This should not impact the activities of other organizations on campus.”

This suspension includes a pause on all pledging activities.
