The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m., when gunfire erupted, leaving one person injured. Another individual was detained at the scene. Tyler’s involvement in the shootout was uncovered during a comprehensive review of the case, which included witness statements, forensic analysis, and police reports.

Barton announced the indictment, filed on September 12, 2024, after the thorough review of evidence tied Tyler to the incident. The investigation was conducted with assistance from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation (MBI), which had earlier confirmed that a Mississippi police officer was involved in the shooting.

Tyler’s legal proceedings will continue as the case moves forward.
