Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a bus carrying members of the Mississippi community college band Thursday night.

WXXV in Gulfport reports that the crash between a Ford Ranger and a bus carrying the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Band of Gold occurred on Thursday, Sept. 19, along Highway 98 near the Walthall County line.

Mississippi Highway Patrol officials reported that the bus was en route to a football game against South Mississippi Community College, carrying MGCCC band members. Fortunately, no students aboard the bus were injured.

The driver and passenger of a Ford Ranger involved in the crash both succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
