A Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) trooper was involved in a collision with another vehicle on Tuesday, September 24, in Jackson.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Gallatin Street and Pearl Street while the trooper was responding to a call for assistance regarding a separate wreck, according to Bailey Martin, press secretary for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS).

As the trooper approached the intersection, he attempted to pass through but collided with a passenger vehicle. Fortunately, only minor injuries were reported as a result of the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
