18-year-old arrested in connection with Mississippi hotel shooting, robbery

Police have arrested an 18-year-old in connection with a shooting and robbery at a Mississippi hotel.
Oxford police have arrested Christopher Suggs Jr., 18, on charges of armed robbery and aggravated assault following a shooting at a local hotel on Sunday, October 21.
According to police reports, officers responded to the hotel after receiving a call about gunshots in one of the rooms. Upon arrival, they found the room empty. Shortly after, authorities were informed that a shooting victim with non-life-threatening injuries had been admitted to Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Investigators determined that a fight broke out among several people in the hotel room, leading Suggs to demand money while brandishing a firearm. During the altercation, the victim was shot.
