A Mississippi man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to charges of kidnapping and malicious mischief in connection to a 2022 incident.
Gregory Alan Coker was sentenced in a Monroe County courtroom on Wednesday.
The case dates back to August 2022, when a woman called 911 seeking help near Parham Store Road and Firetower Road. According to Sheriff Kevin Crook, deputies executed a search warrant at Coker’s residence the following day. When Coker failed to respond, a SWAT team was deployed, and officers eventually forced their way into the home, leading to his surrender.
In addition to the prison sentence, the circuit court judge ordered Coker to serve five years of probation following his release. Coker was sentenced to a total of 30 years, with 15 years suspended.
