Police have found a 45-year-old man shot multiple times inside a Mississippi residence.

Jackson police responded to a homicide scene on Thursday after the man was found shot to death inside a home on Greenway Court, near McDowell Road.

Officers were called to the residence around noon, where a woman discovered the body of the man, who did not live at the home.

Jackson Police Chief Joseph Wade confirmed that the victim had been shot multiple times, with significant damage inside the home suggesting a large number of rounds were fired.

Chief Wade also stated that investigators have identified a person of interest but are still gathering information. “We want to ensure we find this person because they pose a threat to everyone in this area until they are brought to justice,” Wade said.
